We packed in both a film and an animation into the session today ... phew! We started with the film, creating a classic whodunnit with a twist. Detective Meerkat was straight onto the scene when the baker's hat was stolen, and there were four suspects with means, motive and opportunity. After tough interrogations, the crime was no nearer to being solved, but revisiting the crime scene revealed a strange twist - the baker had stolen his own hat in order to frame a rival ...
The animation was all about a lazy, sleepy cat who was curled up in the park, enjoying the sunshine and the peaceful surroundings, until some noisy people came along with their ball. They soon learnt their lesson - never wake a sleeping cat ... especially a big one!
It's just a normal day at home with the monkeys who think they are gerbils. Sitting on their sofa watching TV and dreaming about carrots! And maybe bananas too! Everyone knows, however, that monkeys can't sit still for long, and when one of them accidentally opens the portal door, out comes a scary lion which sends the monkeys and their pet pigs running. Not such a normal day after all. Still, nice wallpaper though.
Today we had two different sessions and were therefore able to be creative twice in a row at double speed! This resulted in the creation of two completely different animations, one set in space and one set in a house. The space scene was the start of a spaceship's journey to the planets and stars where they may, in a future episode, meet one of the many tens of thousands of races of aliens out there. The second animation is a story all about a expert reader. So good in fact is this reader, that they can read whilst walking. They are, however, rather a noisy reader and this attracts the wrath of somebody else in the house who is trying to sleep! Enjoy ...
EPIC FUN WITH ANIMATION AND STORY WRITING
We set out from the shores of the land known as 'blank page' and ended up in a science lab where evil potatoes oversee all kinds of experiments, including one that backfires on them when they accidentally make a self-growing pizza that fights back. We then created the first scene of this epic using stop-motion animation and so, like all great stories, we will say 'to be continued ...'
WHAT SHALL WE DO TODAY?
The CREATIVE CREW today came up with a glimpse into an apocalyptic future where zombies have taken over and started forming rock bands.
It is a quiet day at the space station on the moon. People are just standing around chatting, or looking at the fabulous view of space. SUDDENLY there is a noise, and an asteroid comes crashing into the base, causing a mighty explosion. When the dust settles, a strange creature emerges from the rubble and starts devouring anyone it can find. RUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES ...........
That's the kind of thing we have been dealing with ... how has your day been?
